Job Description:

An aircraft engine technician, also known as an aircraft engine mechanic or technician, is a skilled professional responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft engines. Their role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft engines by performing various tasks, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and component replacement.

Here are the key responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the role of an aircraft engine technician:

  1. Engine Inspection: Aircraft engine technicians inspect aircraft engines for any signs of damage, wear, or malfunctions. They use visual inspections, diagnostic equipment, and specialized tools to identify and diagnose engine problems.
  2. Engine Maintenance: They perform routine maintenance tasks on aircraft engines, such as lubricating moving parts, replacing filters, and checking fluid levels. They also conduct scheduled inspections and tests to ensure engine performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Engine Repair and Overhaul: When engine issues are identified, aircraft engine technicians perform repairs and overhauls to restore engine functionality. This may involve disassembling the engine, replacing faulty components, repairing or reconditioning parts, and reassembling the engine to manufacturer specifications.
  4. Troubleshooting: They troubleshoot engine malfunctions and performance issues by systematically identifying and rectifying the underlying problems. This requires a strong understanding of engine systems, controls, and associated electrical and mechanical components.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
  • Candidates must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering(Aviation/Aeronautics/Astronautics) or similar fields.
  • Candidate must possess minimum Professional Certificate/NiTEC in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent
  • At least 2 years relevant experience in the aviation industry
  • Comfortable with shift work arrangement
