Job Description:

An Occupational Therapist (OT) is a healthcare professional who specializes in helping individuals of all ages regain and improve their ability to perform everyday activities. OTs work with people who have physical, developmental, cognitive, or emotional challenges that affect their functional independence. They evaluate, plan, and implement customized therapy programs to promote independence, enhance quality of life, and facilitate participation in meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social capabilities and limitations. Assess their functional abilities, identify areas of concern, and establish goals for therapy.
  2. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients’ needs, goals, and abilities. Collaborate with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to set realistic goals and design therapeutic interventions.
  3. Therapeutic Interventions: Provide hands-on therapy to clients using a variety of techniques, exercises, and activities. Help clients improve their fine and gross motor skills, enhance coordination and balance, strengthen muscles, and develop sensory integration. Use adaptive equipment and assistive devices to promote independence and improve functioning.
  4. Training and Education: Educate clients, their families, and caregivers on strategies to maximize independence, promote safety, and manage daily activities. Provide guidance on energy conservation techniques, ergonomic principles, and home modifications to optimize clients’ functioning and prevent further disability.
  5. Progress Monitoring and Documentation: Regularly assess clients’ progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and document outcomes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment sessions, and client responses. Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals and team members regarding clients’ progress and any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 year(s) of working experience is required.
  • Candidates must be a Prof’l License (Passed Board/Bar/Prof’l License Exam) holder.
  • Female applicants are preferred for this role.
