Job Description:

An interior finisher, also known as an interior trim carpenter or finish carpenter, is a skilled professional who specializes in the installation and finishing of various interior components in residential and commercial buildings. They are responsible for adding the final touches and details that enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of interior spaces.

Key Responsibilities of an Interior Finisher:

  1. Installation of Trim and Molding: Interior finishers install various types of trim and molding, such as baseboards, crown moldings, chair rails, and window casings. They measure, cut, and fit these components precisely to create clean and visually pleasing transitions between different surfaces.
  2. Door and Window Installation: Interior finishers install doors, windows, and associated hardware. They ensure proper alignment, fit, and functionality of these components. They may also install door frames, jambs, and trims to create a polished and cohesive look.
  3. Installation of Cabinetry and Built-in Furniture: Interior finishers install cabinets, shelves, and other built-in furniture pieces. They work with precision to ensure proper alignment, levelness, and functionality. They may also install countertop materials, hardware, and decorative elements associated with these installations.
  4. Flooring Installation: Interior finishers may be involved in the installation of various types of flooring materials, such as hardwood, laminate, tile, or vinyl. They prepare the subfloor, measure and cut the flooring materials, and install them according to the specified pattern or design. They also ensure proper transitions between different flooring materials.
  5. Finishing Touches: Interior finishers apply finishes and coatings to wood surfaces, such as staining, painting, or varnishing, to enhance their appearance and protect them from wear and tear. They also fill gaps, holes, or imperfections in surfaces and perform touch-up work to achieve a seamless and flawless finish.
  6. Custom Woodworking: Interior finishers may be involved in custom woodworking projects, such as creating and installing custom cabinetry, shelving units, or decorative elements. They work with precision and attention to detail to bring the client’s vision to life.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year(s) of working experience is required.
  • Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
  • Willing to undergo NIHONGO TRAINING
  • Interest and willingness to work in Japan for a maximum of 3 years (Depending on Job Orders)
