Job Description:

A Welder specializing in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG/MAG (Metal Inert Gas/Metal Active Gas) welding techniques plays a vital role in joining metal components to fabricate or repair various structures, equipment, or machinery. They possess expertise in using welding equipment and following welding procedures to ensure strong and high-quality welds. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of welding principles.

Responsibilities:

  1. Welding Operations: The Welder performs welding operations using TIG and MIG/MAG techniques to join metal parts or components together. They read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or specifications to determine the appropriate welding processes and parameters.
  2. Material Preparation: The Welder prepares materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, shaping, or beveling metal components as per project requirements. They ensure that the surfaces are free of contaminants, rust, or debris that could affect the quality of the weld.
  3. Welding Equipment Setup: The Welder sets up and maintains welding equipment, such as welding machines, gas cylinders, torches, and electrodes or filler wires. They adjust settings, select the appropriate welding techniques, and ensure proper gas flow and wire feed for MIG/MAG welding.
  4. Weld Quality and Inspection: The Welder ensures the quality of welds by monitoring the welding process, maintaining proper heat control, and adhering to welding standards and procedures. They conduct visual inspections of welds to identify any defects or imperfections and perform necessary repairs or rework.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 year(s) of working experience is required.
  • No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
  • Candidates must have experience in TIG or MIG welding.
